What does it cost to obtain a territory to publish cartoon maps?

For the one-time fee of US$1000, 100% refundable once your first map is published, we shall assign a sales territory for you, and ship to you the following material that you will need to help you sell the ads. Please
understand this fee of $1000 is NOT a franchise fee or a business opportunity fee. It covers the cost of the material we shall custom-print and prepare just for you, includes the shipping, handling, etc.

The $1000 is fully refundable to you once you have sold 100 ads on your first map and we have collected our 50% share of it. We shall then mail you back a check for the $1000 in full refund of your initial payment!

You can pay the $1000 with a personal or business check, money order, cashier check, etc. We do not take credit cards or use Paypal or e-checks, and strongly advise against mailing cash. Once we receive the funds, we shall wait for them to clear (if they are personal or business checks) and then prepare and ship to you the material detailed below. It will take around 10 days to design, have you proof the design and print business cards, sales material, order forms, etc. before we can ship the package.

What will you receive for the money?

  1. We give you your own website showing your business name, contact information, and your own sub domain. You may view a sample website here: http://sample.citycartoonmaps.com. We will update your website with the information on the map you are working on, show previous maps you did (once you do them, etc. You pay no charge for creating or maintaining your website as long as you are producing maps and we both benefit from them!


  2. 150 NCR3 (means original with 2 copies glued to it) 8.5x11 Order Forms type-set in YOUR business name, address, email, phone, etc. printed with one color ink. You will need to use these to sign up the businesses that place ads. It will be identical to the forms we use but customized in your name and address! Original to be kept by you, first copy mailed to us, 2nd copy given to the client as his/her receipt.


  3. 5,000 1-sided color glossy business cards that will show what you do and have your business name, local contact information, etc. We shall have you proof the design before we print the cards.


  4. 2 laminated 24x36 maps of ours to enable you to show them to prospective advertisers. These laminated maps will be shipped in a suitable tube to protect them during transport.


  5. At least 10 of each of the maps we have in stock, no less than 5 different maps (of cities and also of counties) that you can use to show prospective advertisers. Total of 50 actual maps.


  6. Ad layout forms (150 NCR3). These are 8.5x11 and show the different ad sizes that you will be selling to enable you write on them the name of the advertiser, what they want designed, how, etc. Original to be kept by you, first copy mailed to us, 2nd copy given to the client for his/her file.


  7. We shall design and laminate 2-3 copies of the template of the first map you will be publishing. This template is 8.5x11 and shows on one side the main map area and on the back side the back map(s). Basically, we use this to write on it the location on the real map that the advertiser selects to be located on. It is laminated so that you can, if you want, wipe out one location and re-write it on another using a felt pen.


  8. 1,000 flyers (8.5x11 printed on 1 side on color pastel paper of the map project). You use this to drop at businesses. It describes your map project and shows your contact info. We shall have you proof it before we print it.


  9. We shall design the price list and laminate 2-3 copies for you. We shall have your name and contact info and have you proof it before we print and laminate it. You show this laminated price list to prospects during your sales presentation.


  10. We shall print 50 11x17 sheets (on color paper) folded in half. We suggest you leave them only with larger prospects (ex marketing managers of larger prospects) to show their bosses, etc. The 11x17 has 4 sides (each 8.5x11) that will show:

    A) Front Side: the name of the project (Ex. The So and So Cartoon Map of ...)
    B) the inside left will explain the project in detail: what it is, benefits of advertising on it, etc.
    C) inside right will be the price list (mentioned in #8 above).
    D) The last back cover page will show other promotional material or letters, etc.


  11. Our continued support by email or phone: on how to register your business, the
    types of business that you need to approach, ways to create "urgency", how to sign them
    up (filling the order form and ad layout sheet), how to get the necessary info for the ad and
    sent it to us, how to design the map (as explained above) to send to us, etc. etc.

Our success, and ability to make money, depends on your success in selling the ads. The $1000 we collect from you will barely cover the expenses of printing the above material and the expensive S&H costs that we shall incur to ship them to you. Please understand the above material will be custom designed and printed for YOU! We cannot take them back if you decide not to continue with the project. The $1000 is non refundable in part or in full because we shall have no use for these customized materials.
